Waifu Trap House | 3rd Character Progress

TLDR: New character update will take some time, but will also include Good/Bad routes and a new NTR rating Mechanic and a LOT more scenes/scene variations.

General progress update:

So far, I've been working on the 3rd character (Ochako Uraraka), and even now, I put in about 18 hours yesterday straight getting it to the point it's currently at. Her gameplay will function a bit differently from previous characters. Instead of each game being started from a lobby, it will be from a monopoly-style gameboard, where players could potentially avoid scenes all together if the dice favors that.

It will also introduce a new mechanic, the NTR system. As the player goes through the scenes, depending on the choices they make, the NTR rating will increase. Uraraka's reactions and behaviors will vary depending on the situation, and primarily, the NTR rating the player has allowed to build.

Because of this new mechanic, players will most likely need to do multiple runs of the character if they wish to unlock all scenes, with all variations. I made this choice because I personally felt like the games in previous characters we're moving along too fast, and from this, a character could be completed very quickly. As an example:

Rescue Uraraka during a scene with Low NTR Rating = Positive response, being happy to see the player

Rescue Uraraka during a scene with High NTR Rating = Neutral/Negative response, being upset that the player interrupted her "activities".

As I've been putting all this in, it's dawning on me just how much of a monumental task I've put on myself for a NEW, SOLO dev. I originally would have liked to have this update out within a week of the previous, however looking at it now, I'm starting to understand this is unlikely, due to how much content my ideas is going to have, and how long it's going to take me to put all of that in the game. Regardless, I will get it done, and get it released ASAP.

Take as much time as you need. There is very little need to rush unless you have a deadline and most solo devs do not have that kind of date limit. Yes there may feel like one with promises to a community but like silksong and deltarune has shown people can wait for results or a working game. There may be a few that want it rushed or complain but can never make everyone happy. Play towards your target audience and make something you are happy with creating.
